What Was Ask.com?
Ask Jeeves started in the late 1990s with a unique idea:
- Users could ask questions in natural language
- The system tried to return direct answers
- A virtual butler called “Jeeves” acted as the friendly interface
Why Did Ask.com Shut Down?
There was no single reason. The shutdown was the result of several long-term problems.
