For that reason, we would like to ask the tux.re community:
Which additional programming languages should we support with their own forum categories?
Possible examples could be:
- Python – scripting, automation, web development, server tools
- Perl – classic system administration, text processing, legacy scripts
- C / C++ – system programming, performance, Linux tools, embedded development
- JavaScript – frontend, backend, Node.js, web interfaces
- SQL – databases, queries, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Bash / Shell scripting – Linux automation, cron jobs, server maintenance
- Go – modern backend services, networking tools, cloud software
- Rust – secure system programming and modern performance-focused development
Some questions for you:
- Which programming languages do you use?
- Which languages would you like to learn?
- Should Python, Perl, C/C++, SQL or Bash get their own category?
- Would one general “Programming” forum be enough for now?
