Hello everyone,
I’d like to introduce two interesting projects: tux.wf and tux.re — offering a slightly different approach compared to typical subdomain services.
In addition to creating custom subdomains, both platforms combine DNS management, optional mail hosting, and built-in DynDNS functionality.
What makes this unique:
When creating a subdomain, you can optionally enable a PostfixAdmin account, allowing you to manage mailboxes and email forwarding directly on your subdomain — without relying on external mail providers.
On top of that, DynDNS is fully integrated, which is especially useful for home servers, self-hosted services, or environments with dynamic IP addresses.
Key features:
Custom subdomains under tux.wf and tux.re
Integrated DynDNS (automatic IP updates)
Optional mailbox creation via PostfixAdmin
Email forwarding and mailbox management
Full DNS control (A, AAAA, MX, etc.)
Ideal for homelabs, servers, and development projects
Typical use cases:
Running a home server with a dynamic IP (DynDNS)
Creating custom email addresses on your subdomain
Hosting web services (e.g., Nextcloud, APIs, dashboards)
Development and testing environments
The combination of DynDNS + Mail + DNS in a single platform is relatively uncommon and significantly reduces setup complexity.
