How-to
Get connected, step by step.
Create a subdomain
Sign in or create an account and activate it using the email link.
Choose an available name with 5–63 characters and select tux.re or tux.wf.
Choose the record type, enter its target and TTL, then select Create.
Edit DNS records
Open DNS / DynDNS next to your subdomain in the account.
Use @ for the subdomain itself, or a child name such as www or _dmarc.
Enter the type, value and TTL. Save the record and allow previous caches to expire.
Set up DynDNS
Use a subdomain whose primary record is A or AAAA. Create a token and copy it immediately.
Configure a compatible client with the full hostname as username, the token as password and the HTTPS update endpoint.
Send myip explicitly when using a proxy. A good response confirms an update; nochg means the IP was already current.
curl --user 'myname.tux.re:YOUR_TOKEN' \ --get --data-urlencode 'hostname=myname.tux.re' \ --data-urlencode 'myip=192.0.2.53' \ https://tux.re/nic/update
